This purpose-built cruise center on Roatan, used primarily by Carnival Corporation brands, was renamed Isla Tropicale in May 2026 after opening in 2009 as Mahogany Bay — many itineraries and older guides still use the old name, so expect to see both. The rebrand added the 48,000-square-foot Mangrove Bay pool complex, with a kids' splash pad and a swim-up bar, alongside the existing shopping, bars, and beach area right at the pier. It sits at Dixon Cove, east of Coxen Hole, and is designed for easy walk-off convenience. Unlike the broader Roatan page, this is best understood as a cruise-port base rather than a full island overview. It works especially well for travelers deciding whether to stay inside the port zone, take the chairlift to the beach, or quickly break out to West Bay or reef excursions.

Staying inside the port at Mangrove Bay is fine for a low-effort day, but the best value usually comes from leaving the port for West Bay, West End, or reef tours. Book ship excursions for diving or bundled island tours; otherwise, a direct taxi can be enough.
