Koningsdam debuted in April 2016 as the lead ship of Holland America's Pinnacle class, the first HAL ship named for a reigning Dutch monarch. She introduced the Music Walk concept — including the debut of B.B. King's Blues Club at sea — along with an extensive art collection and the line's now-signature specialty restaurants. A decade into service, Koningsdam remains one of the fleet's most requested ships, sailing scenic Alaska cruises from Vancouver each summer before repositioning to San Diego for Mexican Riviera and California coastal itineraries in the winter.
