Skip it if you're docked at Nordre Toldbod — the centre is an easy walk. If you're at Oceankaj, either book a shuttle transfer or arrange your own taxi, since the port itself has nothing within walking distance. A canal boat tour is worth doing either way and is easy to book on arrival at Nyhavn.
