Overview
Rhodes docks ships essentially against the walls of its Medieval Old Town, making this one of the most convenient port calls in the Aegean — no transfer, no shuttle, just a short walk through a real Crusader-era gate into cobbled streets. Most passengers split their day between the Old Town on foot and a trip south to Lindos, a whitewashed hilltop village crowned by an ancient Greek acropolis.

Walk straight through the Marine Gate into the Old Town and follow the Street of the Knights up to the Palace of the Grand Master — it costs nothing to wander the walls and lanes. For Lindos, a local KTEL bus runs regularly from near the port for a few euros each way, but check the schedule carefully if your port day is short.

Skip it for Rhodes Old Town — it's flat, walkable, and directly at the pier. For Lindos, book a ship or reputable third-party excursion if your port day is on the shorter side, since the round trip plus a walk up to the Acropolis eats a meaningful chunk of the day and the ship's guaranteed return removes the risk.
