Norwegian Prima is the first of NCL's new Prima class and represents the line's most ambitious design shift in years. With 3,099 guests on a hull that would comfortably fit 4,000+, the space-to-guest ratio is deliberately generous — NCL's answer to the mega-ship arms race was to go smaller and more refined. The result is wider decks, the largest go-kart track at sea, The Drop (a near-vertical freefall waterslide), and Ocean Boulevard — a full wrap-around promenade where the ocean is always visible. The Indulge Food Hall and a focus on premium experiences throughout make Prima feel closer to a premium product than traditional NCL.

✦ The standout feature

Ocean Boulevard — a 44,000 sq ft outdoor promenade that wraps the entire ship at Deck 8. It includes the Infinity Beach hot tubs cantilevered over the ocean, alfresco dining, and unobstructed sea views from anywhere on the walkway. No other NCL ship has anything like it.

Norwegian Prima Full Walkthrough Ship Tour & Review

✓ Best for
  • NCL guests who want more space and a less crowded feel
  • Active cruisers — go-karts, slides, and the outdoor promenade are exceptional
  • Haven guests seeking NCL's best ship-within-a-ship experience
  • Premium dining lovers (Indulge Food Hall is excellent)
✗ Not the right fit for

Budget-focused guests — Norwegian Prima prices at a premium over older NCL ships and many specialty dining options carry extra fees. It's designed to feel 'elevated NCL', not cheap NCL.

Typical pricing

From ~$1,099 pp for 7-night Caribbean (studio); Haven suites from $4,000 pp

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Norwegian Prima better than Norwegian Aqua?
They are sister ships in the same Prima class. Norwegian Aqua (2025) adds The Drop waterslide concept, updated food concepts in the Indulge Food Hall, and minor design refinements. If choosing between them, the itinerary matters more than the ship — they're very similar in experience.
How much does the go-kart track cost on Norwegian Prima?
The Prima Speedway go-kart track costs approximately $15 per lap per person. It's the largest go-kart track ever built on a cruise ship and runs on the top deck with ocean views. Minimum height requirement applies (54 inches).
What is the Indulge Food Hall?
The Indulge Food Hall is a 16-concept food court-style dining area spread across an open deck space. Concepts include Seaside Rotisserie, Q Texas Smokehouse, Tamara Cuban Kitchen, Just Desserts, and more. Most food hall items are included in the fare — it's NCL's most innovative dining concept and a highlight of the Prima class.
