Grand Princess
“The ship that started the Grand Class — and one of Princess's longest-serving Alaska veterans.”
Grand Princess entered service in 1998 as the lead ship of Princess Cruises' Grand Class, at the time the largest and most expensive passenger ship ever built. At 107,517 gross tons and around 2,600 guests, she's smaller and more traditionally laid out than most current Princess ships, but she's built one of the fleet's most dependable itinerary programmes: Alaska's Inside Passage from Vancouver and Whittier in summer, and Southern Caribbean sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico in winter. Nearly three decades on, she remains a reliable workhorse valued by repeat Princess cruisers for her classic layout, glass-domed public spaces and consistent, well-worn deployment pattern.
Skywalkers Nightclub — a saucer-shaped lounge cantilevered 15 decks above the sea off the ship's stern, one of the most distinctive architectural features in cruise ship history when Grand Princess debuted in 1998, and still one of the most photographed spots in the Princess fleet.
