Sapphire Princess entered service in 2004 as the second of Princess Cruises' two Gem-class ships, built with an extra-wide beam alongside sister Diamond Princess specifically to serve the Japanese cruise market. Unlike her sister, she doesn't carry the Izumi Japanese Bath, but she shares the same roomier public spaces and standard cabins that the Gem-class design allows. Sapphire Princess has spent recent years shuttling between global regions — Alaska, the West Coast, transatlantic crossings — before settling into a dual Singapore/Yokohama winter season alongside Diamond Princess and a confirmed return to Fremantle, Australia for the 2027-28 summer season. At 115,875 gross tons and under 2,700 guests, she offers a classic, mid-size Princess experience for cruisers chasing Asia-Pacific itineraries.
Skywalkers Nightclub — a glass-walled lounge perched on Deck 17, one of the highest points on the ship, giving 360-degree panoramic ocean views by day and a striking backdrop for dancing by night. Combined with her extra-wide Gem-class beam, shared only with Diamond Princess, she offers noticeably roomier standard cabins than other Grand-class ships of her era.
